Beverley Lemgo Twinning
Association
About us
FOUNDED IN 1984 BY THE PEOPLE OF
BEVERLEY Following the signing of a Twin Town Charter in 1979 by
the Mayor and Burgermeister on behalf of their respective towns.
.
The Association is self- financing, assisted by the provision of
meeting rooms and administrative support by the East Riding of Yorkshire
Council.
Membership is open to all persons, who
support the aims of the Association, are prepared to assist and participate in
its activities and to pay a small annual membership subscription.
The Association organises work experience exchanges for
sixth form students studying German at `A' level, sporting activities between
the two towns, music groups, art exhibitions, general exchanges of a cultural
nature and to discuss and compare European similarities and
differences
 The
Association has been very successful over the years in assisting groups and
individuals in broadening their experience of mainland Europe through contact
with our German opposites. The examples mentioned above are but a part of the
activities which we have helped to facilitate, and we are always open to
consideration of requests for help from people with other interests.
