The Association aims to promote and foster friendship and understanding between the people of the town of Beverley and its surrounding area and those of the town of Lemgo in Germany.

One very important way in which we hope to do this is by encouraging young people to improve their linguistic skills in German and experience aspects of German culture, by taking advantage of the long-standing twinning between the two towns.
This relationship has allowed us to arrange strong work experience links in both directions. So far jobs have been offered in cafes, boutiques, the hospital. town library and a variety of other places.

If there is some particular area of work you would wish to try we will do our best to arrange your preferred choice, but no guarantees can be given. The duration of these work placements can vary according to the time you are able, or wish, to spend in Germany.

We will also help to organise appropriate accommodation, which could either be with a host-family, or you may be able to use a flat in the town centre which the Lemgo town council uses for this purpose, depending on availability. For this there would be a nominal charge. Furthermore, we are offering to assist you in making the necessary travelling arrangements. However, the association will not be able to assist you financially.
